While we are being encouraged to practice social distancing and some of us are still working from home, many are finding it the perfect time to knock off that “project list” that has been put on the back burner.
Not only do we now have the time to dedicate to these projects, they are a good release of energy and a distraction to the stress we may be feeling during this time.
These are also great projects to complete if you find yourself cooped up during storm season.
So, whip out that list and read along as we give you ideas to help stay busy and accomplished!
Declutter projects
We all have that one junk drawer or that one closet that could use a little TLC. Tackling this type of project in one fell swoop can be a bit daunting.
Throughout your day, schedule out 15-minute increments to spend decluttering each item on your list. Here are some spaces you might want to evaluate:
- Junk drawers
- Closets
- Nightstands
- Dressers
- Pantry
- Medicine cabinets
“I’ll hang it up later”
If there is one thing we know for sure, it is that most people absolutely hate hanging things up.
Taking out the level, dealing with anchors, planning out the perfect placement – it can all seem a bit overwhelming.
Due to this, there is probably a pile of picture frames and shelves sitting in a lonely corner of your house.
Now is the perfect time to finally get all those items put up! The end result will be worth it, and you will get the unnecessary clutter out of the way.
Furniture touch-ups
Whether it’s a full paint job or just a sprucing up with some wood polish, you can bring life to your outdated and used furniture pieces.
Try adding fun pops of color or unique designs with stencils to put some joy into your space.
Spring, or fall, cleaning!
We know, it may not be the most enjoyable task, but it must be done. Focus on areas that are often neglected such as windows, blinds, fans, molding, and kitchen shelves.
Also, take this time to get your space ready for fall by switching out your textiles, candles, décor, and other items to more seasonal and warm pieces.
